TK, Kindergarten, and 1st Grade use Blue Bots.2nd-5th are using Dash and Dot bots along with an app called Blockly.6th-8th are using Lego Mindstorms.In the 2023-2024 school year, there was a free after-school robotics club offered weekly for grades 4-6.
The team from the Robotics elective offered at Petaluma Accelerated Charter School won the top Team Award in the 2019 Sonoma County Robotics Challenge, several awards in the 2022 event, and several awards including the Golden Propeller Award for Best Overall Team in 2023.Check out this video of some of the 2022 highlights from the PACS team and this 2023 highlights video from the county office of education.
Thanks to a 2019 grant from Petaluma Educational Foundation, we were able to purchase more robotics equipment along with engineering materials and a new 3D printer. All classes have engineering lessons throughout the year.
