Ms. Carrie Caudle

This is Ms. Caudle's 18th year of teaching at Mary Collins School. She started out as a 7/8 grade teacher, then taught K/1, and now she gets to teach 2/3. She completed her undergraduate studies at UC Santa Cruz, has a MA in Education and teaching credential from UC Berkeley, and has been teaching at MCCV for her entire career. Carrie is passionate about social justice and the transformative power of theater and movement. Ms. Caudle loves the outdoors--hiking and paddling and gardening--and lives in Petaluma with her wonderful husband and two daughters.

Mrs. Denise Howe

Mrs. Denise Howe started teaching in 1996 and came to MCS in 2006 with a strong background in child development. She was a guest lecturer at the HAEYC conference in Kauai on the topic of the Reggio Emilia approach to education and participated in the Western States delegation to Reggio Emilia, Italy, as a part of a teacher exchange program. She has also given presentations related to Project Based Learning, Marcy Cook Math, and Physical Education in the elementary grades.

Mrs. Howe has been a site coordinator for the Dominican University credential program and has supervised students from Sonoma State University. She has worked with the faculty and staff at Sonoma State during their interview process for prospective candidates seeking entry to the credential program. She has previously been our site Administrative Designee, and Title IX officer. She is currently our GATE and SST coordinator.

Mrs. Howe holds a B.A. (Liberal Studies, English Literature, minor), a California teaching credential, and an M.S. (Curriculum and Instruction, emphasis in Reggio Emilia study) from Dominican University of San Rafael. She received a Multiple Subject credential in 1996 and a Preliminary Administrative Services credential from the North Coast School of Education in June of 2019.  She has taught pre-school, Kindergarten, 2/3rd-grade multi-age as well as traditional 1st, 3rd, and 6th grades, in addition to coaching athletes ranging in ages from age four to adults.

When she’s not teaching, Mrs. Howe likes to be reading, cooking, eating chocolate, and hanging out with her fat cat.

Ms. Coreene Kavanaugh

Joining the 2/3 Madrone Team is Ms. Coreene Kavanaugh. Ms. Kavanaugh grew up in Novato, California.  She received a BA degree in Psychology from the University of Arizona and her Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and MA in Teaching from the University of San Francisco. Ms. Kavanaugh and her husband, Dominic, have a son, Cullen and a daughter, Lena. Ms. Kavanaugh is so excited to be a part of the Cherry Valley Community.
