Student-led Petaluma Wildlife & Natural Science Museum

The Petaluma Wildlife Museum is the first and only high school student-run natural history museum the nation. Our student docents give conservation-themed tours of our facility and small animal zoo to children from visiting local elementary schools. In addition, our docents bring our Animal Ambassadors to community events and reptiles shows, travel to local schools and organizations to provide conservation themed workshops/presentations, and run a weekly Open House at our facility for the general public in an effort to spread our message of the importance of biodiversity and wildlife conservation.

One Of A Kind: Casa Grande's Fish Hatchery Program

If you’ve ever walked by the student parking lot and wondered, “What is that building with the birds and fish on it? You wouldn’t be the first one to ask. That building is home to Casa’s hatchery program. It’s run by Mr. Dan Hubacker, a Casa Grande alumnus as well as a former hatchery student. Started by Mr. Tom Furrer, former wildlife biology and hatchery teacher, the hatchery program has been around for 40 years.

        Bantam Broadcast Show is Live!

Check out what PJHS students in our Intro to Digital Media class have been up to by watching the first ever: Bantam Broadcast's December Show. The time, effort, and heart that went into the making of this show is evident and demonstrates what students have learned this semester: Videography skills: composition, lighting, and sound. Using new equipment: cameras, microphones, lights, video switcher, etc. Editing skills on WeVideo and Adobe Premiere Pro that focus on creating continuity and engaging stories. And most importantly - acquiring the mindset and confidence required to produce a quality program.
