Field trips are recognized as important moments in learning; a shared social experience that provides the opportunity for students to encounter and explore novel things in an authentic setting. Grant school has a long history of field trips. Our PTA donates $25 per student towards the cost of field trips.

Some field trip examples by grade level are:

• Kindergarten: The pumpkin patch, firehouse, bowling
• 1st grade: Bay Area Discovery Museum, Safari West, Thompsons Creek
• 2nd grade: Theater, Environmental Science field trip
• 3rd grade: Theater, Environmental Science field trip
• 4th grade: Fort Ross, Sacramento, Oakland Science Museum
• 5th grade: Angel Island (overnight), Environmental Science field trip
• 6th grade: Art Museum, 6th-grade camp (1 week overnight)
