If for some reason your student is unable to attend school, please call the McDowell attendance line at (707) 778-4746. Leave a message providing an explanation for your child's absence before, during, or after their absence.

If your student is absent, you will receive a call from our attendance clerk who will ask for an explanation for your child's absence.

To keep our school safe and healthy, please keep your student home if they are ill, and call the attendance line to notify us of their illness. If they miss school due to a doctor or dentist appointment, please retain a doctor/dentist note. Students who have vomited will stay off school grounds for a full 24 hours. Please ensure that lice do not spread throughout our campus; if a student is found to have lice or lice eggs, they will be sent home for treatment. Did you know that you can submit attendance notes in ParentSquare? For any absences not excused during the day, you will receive a message from ParentSquare that evening informing you of your student's absence.
