Curriculum 

At McDowell, we implement engaging curriculum aligned with rigorous Common Core State Standards. Students at McDowell have rich learning experiences to explore English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, Science, and more! Instruction frequently includes interdisciplary projects that engage students in making connections within and across curricular areas.

English Language Arts      

Our Elementary English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum has English Language Development integration to support English Learners. Our curricular programs for ELA are integrated with California Social Studies standards and the New Generation Science Standards (NGSS), so students learn language through high-interest standards-aligned content.

Mathematics

As of 2016-17, our Elementary Mathematics curriculum adoption is Everyday Mathematics. This dynamic program includes an online component and engaging games to reinforce conceptual understanding.
