On January 30, 2019, Petaluma City Schools’ administrators were invited to participate in a public inquiry and conversation on Diversity, Anti-Bias, and Inclusivity in Petaluma City Schools. The inquiry and conversation took place in the Petaluma Library and was moderated by the Petaluma Community Relations Council. A large group of administrators, teachers, students, and the Petaluma police chief were present as part of the conversation with community stakeholders.

That conversation led to a recent visit to Casa Grande High School on March 8, 2019. Superintendent Gary Callahan and several administrators led a group of parents and community stakeholders through a tour of the Casa campus and engaged in a conversation around diversity, anti-bias, and inclusiveness in Petaluma City Schools.

Petaluma City Schools is committed to the goal of offering our students and staff a safe, welcoming, and inclusive learning environment, each and every day. In the coming months, Assistant Superintendent Matthew Harris will be meeting with parents and community members to continue the conversation and to come up with next steps towards this goal.
