Gregory Stevenson, Principal, Carpe Diem and Sonoma Mountain High Schools

Greg Stevenson is in his sixth year as the principal of both Carpe Diem and Sonoma Mountain High Schools, and ninth year as an administrator in Petaluma City Schools.

As a second career, Mr. Stevenson started his career in education in 2001 as a classroom teacher for Windsor Community School, a 7-9 grade alternative education program under the supervision of Sonoma County Office of Education.

After three years in Windsor, he was hired as the Woodshop teacher at Kenilworth Junior High School in Petaluma, where he remained for the next six years. In 2010, Mr. Stevenson was hired as the principal of Crossroads Community Day School, where he spent another three years prior to his current principalship at Carpe Diem and Sonoma Mountain High Schools.

After high school, Greg attended Kings River Community College where he received his Associates Degree in Forestry/Natural Resources. He transferred to Fresno State University and earned a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Art/Industrial Education, and his single subject teaching credential.

While teaching at Kenilworth, he returned to school at Sonoma State University, where he earned his Administrative Services credential and Masters Degree in Education.

When not at school, Greg can be found spending time with his family, which include his wife, Elizabeth (also a teacher), and their three young children. They enjoy the outdoors in general, but more specifically boating, camping, crabbing, fishing, and athletic involvement. Greg is also an artist, woodworker and a coach for youth baseball and soccer.
